With 100 additional trailers, a maintenance workshop twice the size and two extra hectares of parking space, NDQ is strengthening its position as a key logistics hub between Europe and the UK.
ZEEBRUGGE, 15 October 2026 – Logistics service provider NDQ is further expanding its capacity in Zeebrugge. The company recently added 100 new trailers to its fleet, built a new maintenance workshop twice the size of its previous facility and created an additional two hectares of parking space. Together, these new investments represent €4 million and will enable NDQ to accommodate its continued growth while further strengthening its position as a logistics partner for freight flows between mainland Europe, the United Kingdom and Ireland.
“Today, we unload more than 150 trailers a day in the UK. That is a record number, but we are still a long way from reaching our maximum capacity,” says Bram Ameloot, Sales Director at NDQ.
NDQ has steadily expanded its operations in recent years. From its strategic location close to the roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) terminals at the Port of Zeebrugge, the company is increasingly acting as a central logistics buffer for freight flows between Europe, the UK and Ireland.
Faster, more cost-effective and more sustainable
NDQ’s warehousing and buffering capacity offers a practical solution to the challenge of fragmented, costly and environmentally intensive supply flows. Rather than transporting individual European products by road to a distribution centre in the UK — for example, in the Birmingham area — before redistributing them onwards, NDQ brings all goods together at one central hub close to the RoRo terminals in Zeebrugge.
From NDQ’s warehouse, shipments are consolidated and shipped unaccompanied within 24 hours, directly to the port closest to the relevant Regional Distribution Centre (RDC) in the UK or Ireland. In practical terms, this means fewer road kilometres, making transport faster, more cost-effective and more sustainable for retailers.
100 new trailers increase capacity
To accommodate additional volumes to the UK and Ireland quickly, reliably and flexibly, NDQ recently added 100 new ferry trailers to its fleet, bringing the total number of trailers to 700.
“In 2023, we were unloading around 100 trailers a day in the UK. Today, that figure has risen to more than 150. Our volumes continue to grow, while at the same time we are seeing customers expect more from their logistics partners,” says Bram Ameloot, Sales Director at NDQ. “They are looking for a partner that can take the complexity out of logistics by organising, monitoring and adjusting their freight flows from end to end. By continuing to invest in our own assets, we retain maximum control over that supply chain.”
New workshop doubles maintenance capacity
The infrastructure at NDQ’s Zeebrugge site has also been upgraded. The former maintenance workshop has been replaced by a new 1,300 m² facility equipped with four inspection pits, a brake test bench and two separate areas for maintenance and repairs to trailer superstructures. This gives NDQ sufficient maintenance capacity to support a fleet of up to 1,500 trailers in the future.
“The new workshop is positioned more logically within the site and is fully aligned with our current and future logistics flows. It helps us keep our 700 trailers available as much as possible, while also giving us the capacity to continue growing,” says Ameloot.
Two additional hectares of parking space
In addition to expanding its fleet and workshop, NDQ is increasing the available space at its site with approximately two additional hectares of parking. This allows trailers to be temporarily staged before being dispatched just in time to the RoRo terminals for shipment.
The additional parking capacity enables NDQ to accommodate large customer volumes quickly and efficiently, while ensuring a smoother flow of trailers towards the terminals.
Zeebrugge as a strategic advantage
NDQ has recorded strong growth in recent years. While turnover stood at approximately €30 million in 2023, the company expects to exceed €40 million by the end of 2026. According to NDQ, its strategic location in Zeebrugge, together with previous investments in a rail-connected warehouse and AI-powered software, has played a major role in this logistics success story.
This year’s additional investments are part of NDQ’s ambition to continue growing as a logistics partner for British retailers.
“We want to continue growing our transport activities to the UK. Our people are experts in their field, we have close relationships with the shipping lines and our AI software simplifies customs administration. But our biggest advantage remains our location,” Ameloot concludes. “Zeebrugge is much more than a departure point for the UK. Step by step, we are developing a logistics hub here that enables customers to organise their European freight flows to the UK more efficiently. The additional trailers, our new workshop and the extra parking capacity give us the infrastructure we need to further strengthen that role.”
